WPL Wiki

Here's my stab at an example of a wiki that might be usable for us in the library.

For those of you who have never used one, a wiki is a website that allows visitors to easily add, change or remove content. The idea is that we can all collaborate to create stuff. I'm not sure what sort of stuff we'll do, if anything, but I have a couple of ideas that might be useful.

First, a list of titles for our current/past/future "staff picks" book display. Use the wiki to look for titles to add to the display rack. And if you know of any good books that you think patrons might enjoy, add 'em to the list.

Second, we sometimes receive requests for autobiographies. At one point, an email was circulating and people simply added suggestions to the list. Helpful, but the email had to be handy when you needed it. Now, the list will be here!

Third, we also have a list of microhistories for display.

I thought this would also be a good place to summarise the sessions we all saw at OLA….

…as well as other conferences.

The Whitby in Bloom launch is coming up in April. We would like to create a list of good reads, not how-tos, that have something to do with gardens/flowers. Please share the fruits of your imagination….(also looking for a good name for the list)

If you want to edit a page, just click the "edit" tab at the bottom. The page content will be shown in a box and you can change/add/delete stuff. Please add new titles alphabetically to the list.

This is a totally experimental work in progress. If you have any questions, please let Dean know.
Thanks!
